If you read the more numerous reviews of the single spike version, you'll notice the trend of complaints about clogging. Same with this model, the outlet holes are drilled on the very tip of the spike. First time in the soil, clogs. I ended up drilling extra holes on the side of this model similar to a model I had previously owned that was better designed, easy peasy. Still, having no sharp spike (since it has a big hole in it from the manufacturer) makes it more difficult to push into the soil. I may end up modifying this new model again with putty epoxy to remake a solid spike on the tip.

I wish I hadn't given my old one away when I moved to a place without a yard.
