Uno pond filter systems are among the better ones you can buy to keep the water clean in your backyard pond. Alas, with repeated rinsing and reinstallation, the two foam inserts become stretched out in the one case and compressed in the other. They no longer fit the housing that well, and pond water flows around them more than it does through them. The replacement filters are not cheap, but they do restore proper functioning to the unit.My guess is that you can probably get two to three years off a set of filter inserts before replacement is advised. I let mine go for nearly five before doing something about the failed filters that came with the housing originally. I won't wait that long next time.
