When my cheap 50 ft. Costco hose ($15) failed after less than a year I went shopping for something better. I have a higher-quality 100-foot hose in the back that is wearing very well, and at first I was just going to get a similar hose on Amazon, in a 50-ft. length, 5/8" diameter, but this one caught my eye. It had good overall reviews and, thought I, "if it's so expensive it MUST be a superior piece of equipment."

I've had it a couple of weeks now and use it every, or every-other day to water plants at the front of the house.

Pro's:

It's VERY light and easy to carry around. This isn't a major consideration for me as I'm still (knock on wood) capable of wrangling a hose around the yard, but I did enjoy the light weight.

It appears to be very well constructed. The hose ends are reinforced and quality-made, as are the hose fittings.

Con's:

You do lose some water pressure/volume, due to the 1/2" diameter. I probably could have lived with this, but I did miss the extra power of the full-size hose.

Most importantly, and the reason I'm returning it, is that it DOES kink. It kinks easily and badly, probably due to thin-walled material which also gives it it's light weight. I tried stretching the hose out to its full length and turning/rolling it so that it wasn't trying to coil itself up but that didn't do the trick. It constantly wants to coil and then kink.

I'm kind of a sucker for higher-priced items when I think that they are really quality, but if I'm paying a 50-100% premium for a hose that is advertised as "preventing kinks," that's what I expect.

Two stars for overall quality construction, appearance and lightness. If those are your primary concerns and you can live with the kinking, it's a nice hose.
