The Clean Water Fun garden hose filter can be used for any of your outdoor water needs where cleaner water is desired.Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after filter.In third party testing, our filter has been shown to reduce organic chemicals by 99%* and chloramines at 97%* or better.**If you will be using the filter daily, we recommend purchasing an inexpensive garden hose quick connect from your local hardware store. This will allow you to easily attach the filter and prevent any stripping of the filter threads from the metal on the garden hose. Keep the quick connect attached and store the filter in a plastic storage bag (no need to replace end caps in this case).**What is catalytic carbon?This carbon is made from coconut shell that has undergone a steam activation process to create its activated carbon form with micro-pores. During activation, it creates millions of pores at the surface of the carbon, thus increasing the total surface area. After the activation process the carbon is coated with a catalyst which continues to break the bond between the chlorine and ammonia (how chloramine is formed) allowing any remaining chloramines to be treated. I am so glad I found this product! I have a Tower Garden (offered by Juice Plus-[...]) and while I love the Tower Garden, and the excellent produce I have harvested, I found that trying to keep the non-chlorinated water replenished was becoming more and more of a nuisance. This filter allows me to replenish the water anytime, with no fuss. The packaging was great, and I will recommend it to anyone who has a Tower Garden, or any need for non-chlorinated water.
