A bit larger than I imagined but the quality is excellent and the price is right. It took maybe 2 minutes to install and it made a solid, leak-free connection to my garden hose. Upon inspection of the interior of the connector, each side had a ring of maybe 15 plastic teeth which grip the outer layer of the hose when the collar is tightened. The teeth prevent the hose from being pulled out of the connector. The inner layer of the hose goes over a barbed fitting which made a tight seal. Very Impressed.

Update: September 10, 2011: The connector is still working great, but one of the rubber greyish bands came off-probably due to excessive sun exposure. This in no way affects the function of this product. It just doesn't look as good as it used to. Still a great product and I'd buy it again.
