My neighbor and I have both used this product with very good results. We both have ponds of 1+ acres and the soil is 70 to 75% sand and 20 to 25% clay, so that does have an effect on your results. If you use this with the pond dye you have better results. The higher your content of soil(instead of sand) and clay is the poorer your results seem to be.
