Well, you can hardly complain about the product when you have no other options available to you :) Anyways, I have to replace the impeller about once a year and it is imperative that after you take the pump apart you clean it thoroughly before re-installing the new impeller otherwise, any debris that is left behind could shorten the lifespan significantly. I wish they would use a slightly harder more durable plastic on the actual blades of the impeller and the main shaft since that seems to be the part that brakes most often...until then, $20.00 a year to keep the pond up and running!

Beckett Corporation Frog Spitter without Pump Review

This pond spitter is really cute and classy. I purchased it because it does not look like a cartoon frog like a lot of the other spitters. It came in good condition with fast shipping. The frog is thick, hard plastic but it looks elegant -you can't tell it's painted plastic. It's heavy enough to stay put wherever you position it. I attached a 250gph submersible magnetic drive pump to it and it started working right away. With that pump, the water stream flows out about two feet into the pond with an arch that's about 12 inches high. It makes a nice, loud sound as it hits the water surface. There are no leaks. I have had this running 24/7 for about two months and there are no issues at all. I positioned it on rocks that sit on my liner so if there is every a leak or a severe malfunction, it will not drain the pond. I think it's irresponsible to put a fountain on the outside of your pond anyways and would never take the risk myself.

Test strips in general are only relatively accurate. I compared this brand to another and they disagree somewhat, especially for ph,kh,or gh. When compared to liquid tests, neither matched up. So what are they good for. I use them when I am correcting water systems say after a large water change or after chemical use. During the correction I need to know that i am getting better readings, not worse. When the strips approach normal then I use liquid tests for more absolute readings.

My neighbor and I have both used this product with very good results. We both have ponds of 1+ acres and the soil is 70 to 75% sand and 20 to 25% clay, so that does have an effect on your results. If you use this with the pond dye you have better results. The higher your content of soil(instead of sand) and clay is the poorer your results seem to be.

I reviewed a lot of uv clarifiers. This one is made by same company as my pond filter. Installing was a snap. I cut the intake line to my filter, lines slid right onto the clarifier. I plugged it in and in two days the water was crystal clear! I've been cleaning the filter pads daily too. I can tell soon I'll be able to go days between cleanings. If you need a filter too, go with tetra!

My pond is about 900 gal. It's in sun most of the time. I have 8 koi, a waterfall, a bubbling fountain and the filter. I added 40 small oxygenating plants and a barley ball. Before the uv I dosed the water for weeks with chemicals. The uv worked when nothing else did.
