Gilmour Extra Large Coverage Sprinkler 198LMS Review

I bought this sprinkler to cover a 12,000 sq. ft. backyard. I get about a 30' radius circle which is about 3000 sq. ft of coverage (quite a bit less than 52' radius of 8500 sq. ft rating but I assume that's because of my lower water output in the backyard spigot).

The sprinkler does drip/spray more water within 2 ft. of the base due to the reflected spray from rotator arm. If this sprinkler had an internal rotating mechanism to prevent water reflections and dripping near the base, I would give 5 stars.

Overall this works great. The rotator arm is somewhat noisy outside but is barely audible within the home. This would probably distrub sleep if running in the a.m. and a nearby window is open. I run the sprinkler on a timer from 3:30am to 7am and if I'm awake I have to listen hard to see if it's on (I'm a light sleeper and my windows are closed so it never wakes me up).

Yard Butler HCF-3 Free-Standing Garden Hose Hanger with Faucet Review

I went through the trouble of filling a pot with concrete & cemented in a 1" hardwood stake so that I could slide the hanger over the stake as opposed to mounting it permanently inground. Glad I did that because as soon as I attached the hose, the connecting bib came off right in my hand. No way to repair or replace. Took the piece of junk back to the store.
I wrote 2 letters to the company on their company website; no acknowledgement at all. Part of the problem is that the hose goes straight in on a horizontal, which places undue pressure; if it doesn't fail immediately, like mine did, it will in time.
There is an alternative sold here & at Home Depot made by Liberty Gardens. The hose runs straight up the back, you could even tie wrap it if you wanted to which would relieve all tension whatsoever. Parts are also replaceable on the Liberty Garden, and I don't mean mail order, they're right in the PVC plumbing aisle.
Don't be a sap like me! This is junk & the company management could care less about their customers.

Orbit SunMate Digital 2 Outlet Hose Faucet Timer Watering Equipment Review

I bought this unit "Orbit-SunMate 56082 3-Port Programmable Timer" and set up 3 hoses to water 3 zones in my backyard. Everything worked perfectly when I set it up. I would hear it watering in the morning when I woke up. I set it up so each zone would water in order. First zone would water, then second zone, finally third zone. It worked for about a month.

Recently, I noticed that there is a considerable time delay between manual activate and watering. Sometimes it would take up to a minute.

Then, I don't hear it watering in the morning anymore. I went out and disconnected all 3 hoses and try to test each port individually. I have found that only port 1 is working. Port 2 and port 3 do not work anymore. For port 2 and port 3, there is a mechanical "click" sound when I try to activate it (by schedule or by manually) but no water would come out. I replaced the new battery and even resetting the unit without any success.

I was thinking if I could get a couple years out of this unit it would be money well spent, but it is such a disappointment. This unit broke right around the time when I no longer can return it back to Amazon.

Dramm 17006 ColorStorm Premium 50-Foot-by-5/8-Inch Rubber Garden Hose, Berry Review

I've been looking for ages for something fun for my garden.... and I needed a new hose or two as well. I decided to look on Amazon after not finding anything but the same old green things at Home Depot. When I came across these hoses I knew they would be perfect, and they are. They all arrived this weekend (I bought three: orange, red and the purple). The fittings are stainless streel and they are so easy to attch to my soaker hoses and also to the various nozzels that I use in my yard. No leaks, no kinks, so twisty hoses knocking over things when I walk to another place. I would highly recommend these hoses, for fun and function, YEAH! Well worth the price, and the smiles.

update: It's been several years since I bought my first Dramm hoses, and they are still holding up perfectly, although they have faded a bit after living outside in the sun. Today I am ordering three more to replace the oldest junky green ones from my pre-Drumm life. I can't wait to have all Dramm hoses in my yard now. I know it sounds kind of silly, but if you're a gardener like I am, having the perfect, reliable, beautiful hose is essential to blissful yard work.
