This particular design, using low water flow with ground submersion and river-rock covering, goes forty-eight hours requiring less than three quarts to top-off the reservoir--And this during 98-100 degree high Oklahoma heat.

Because the basin design does not have a direct bottom feed, tubing must be used from the pump to a flat-bottom stem-feed at the bottom of the vase. Therefore, pump head pressure is increased. I recommend a minimum of a five hundred gallon per hour submersible pump to achieve the flow rate shown here.
