I bought this adapter to use with "Gilmour 10 Series 1-Inch Diameter 6 Ply Flexogen 1 Inch X 100 Feet 10-10100 Green" hose. The male fitting on that hose is longer than on hoses with 3/4" fittings, while the female end of this adapter is shallow. It does work, sort of, but all the threads on the hose's male end aren't engaged when screwed into the adapter. Not a desirable situation long-term. I would guess that the same problem would occur with all 1" hoses.
