Well this is an ok device, but the spike isn't long enough to be really useful. It needs to be about 6" or 8" longer to really hold its footing in most applications. I had to go to the hardware store and buy a 24" long snug-fitting piece of pipe that I drove into the ground and then put this inside it to keep it from pulling out of the ground. Once I did that, it worked well, but it would have been great if it were designed better from the beginning.

I bought this product to control watering of my garden when planning to be away on vacation. It worked great for that. But, I'm also using it for timed watering of the lawn. I set the timer and forget about it. I can leave the house with the sprinkler running, I can provide timed watering to each sprinkler location, I can start the sprinkler at early morning hours when I'm still in bed. This is a wonderful tool for the gardener. Another benefit is that it likely saves water, because many times I've set the sprinkler and leave it running longer than necessary.

I wanted a drink-safe, lead-free hose to water my organic square foot raised bed. I decided to go with a coiled hose because all of the reviews for standard hose reels were terrible, and the reels/storage boxes aren't exactly cheap. I had measured the distance from my outdoor spigot to the garden to be about 50 ft. and I had read another review saying the coiled hoses didn't stretch to their full listed length, so I went with the 75 ft. hose. I'm very glad I did because this barely makes it! If I could buy again, I'd probably even get the 100 ft. Go longer than you think you should, close to even double. It doesn't kink but it can get tangled and it's a bit challenging to get apart (like a Slinky).

AbsolutelyNew Water Saver Usage Meter Review

This product is too delicate for anything designed for outdoor use. It is best not to leave it outdoors or leave it hooked up to your hose, especially with hose pressure on a sunny day. I did this and the external seals failed and filled the display and battery case with water. I am still in the process of drying it out in hopes it will still work and that I can use it carefully and occasionally, putting it back in its box each time I am done using it. Also, the threaded hose bib ring popped off the assembly a few times. One would think that with a resettable meter that monitors daily or monthly use it would be designed to hold up to the elements. My conclusion--cheap manufacture makes this product a novelty instead of the reliable tool I expected. Of course I compared a brass one at over $100, so at $30 +/- perhaps I got what I paid for. Still, I am very disappointed.

Maybe it seems overly dramatic, but this hose has changed my life! At least the portion spent in the garden. I will never buy a standard hose again. My plants will suffer less neglect, because this hose is so convenient to use. I *hate* winding hoses. These strong emotions cause me to procrastinate and therefore lose many pretty plants. I've purchased special (read: specially priced) auto-winding hose caddies to help with this annoying chore, which have been moderately useful when they work right, and I've invested hundreds in "no-kink" hoses that have been a real disappointment. I once bought a coil hose at the home store, but it leaked badly and tangled. It barely lasted the season, so I bought a standard hose the next time. The reviews of this hose pursuaded me to reach out for the dream once more. This hose is high quality, good sealing, heavy-duty, and doesn't tangle on itself. Even my children can use it and it doesn't tangle, and that is a testament! It goes right back where it belongs with no hassle. The only thing I'd mention that is remotely negative: Thick, quality 50-foot spiral hoses don't give you 50 feet of reach, more like 1/2 to 2/3 that, depending how muscular and/or aggressive you are, so keep that in mind when buying. If you despise winding hoses as much as I do, be of good cheer: You *can* enjoy your time in the garden again! Buy this hose.

The product feels quite sturdy and is ergonomically nice but the quality of the product does not hold up. After 4 months of owning the product and using it to water flowers etc, it broke. Yard Butler HT-2EZ 2-Wheeled Garden Hose Truck with 175-Foot Hose Capacity Review

We have had several hose trucks/hose reels over the years. We like this one better than most. The connection point where the garden hose connects to the reel is one of the best I have seen. It allows for smooth curling of the hose around the reel without kinking or bending the hose. There are two things I would do differently if I designed the truck. The front of the hose truck has "U" shaped metal tubing that rests on the surface to help stableize the unit. This is not a good design because it allows contact with the surface which will wear the paint off the metal and cause the metal to rust. Ruber bumpers would help with that problem. The wheels are mounted using nuts and bolts through some thin metal tubing. If the cart is moved much at all this will be a weak spot. Thicker tubing and a solid rod from one wheel to the other would solve the problem.
