I think that this is well designed and sufficiently heavy for keeping it stable. It is expensive, but functional. However, I could not give it more than three stars because of two issues. (1) The base should have an inlet AND an outlet, so it can be used at the end or in the middle of a series of hoses. (2) The unit had a prominent sticker saying that the metal had lead in it and to wash your hands after handling. Excuse me? Wash your hands after moving a sprinkler? No consumer product should have to carry that warning. That said, the unit is painted and I am hoping that if I keep the coating intact, I will not have to take this precaution.

UPDATE: I ordered a second unit a month after the first. It looked identical to the first with one exception. The second one came without the warning. Was it torn off accidentally? Did Yard Butler make a change?
