Cal Pump T10000 Torpedo Pond Pump - 40' Cord Review

This pump pumps a lot of water but don't expect it to last more than 2 seasons. This is the third one I've bought because I haven't wanted to spring for the more expensive pumps that will last longer. They work fine for about 1.5 years and then they start to make noise. The noise becomes progressively louder and then they seize up. However, for the price, they are an OK pump.

This is an update. I intended to write a review of webb's water garden (the seller) but I couldn't figure out how to do that. This pump failed after 6 months. I contacted Webb's and the sent me an rma number. I had my new pump in 3 days. I couldn't be happier and will definitely buy from them in the future.

Laguna Fairy Spitter Kit Review

I needed to get the water circulating in a small to mid-size pond following a water change, so I ordered this Spitter Kit.
This is Day One with the Fairy Spitter. I like 'easy' and this product is easy. There is nothing to getting it started...just attach the hose to the pump, put the pump in the water where you want it (the pump actually has four little suction cups and stuck nicely to the pond liner), and away we go. I was afraid the water would just trickle or drip when I saw the tiny submersible pump, but the Spitter does spit at a pretty good pace, shooting the water out a few inches. It's enough to make a nice trickling water sound and move the water. The fairy seems pretty sturdy.
For the money, I would have preferred a more substantial pump, but as long as this one keeps working I can live with it.
Update: The spitter has been running 24/7 for over a week without a hiccup, so I am giving it a fourth star.
(If it does stop spitting, simply pop the hose off the pump. When the pump shoots the water out again, re-attach the line and make sure it is un-kinked all the way to the Fairy spitter base.)
Update #2: The fairy has been spitting 24/7 for weeks; you have to love a thing that works! I'm adding the 5th star to my review.

FYI - If you have kids, they *will* want to spend the first week asking, "Mommy, can I put my hands in the fountain?"

We have this on the corner of our deck. I love the bubble style fountain head, as pictured. However, there are other options, many more vertical and "spray"-like. Those are best left for a garden rather than a seating area (unless your guests enjoy a sprinkle).

A strong sustained wind will take the water volume down by about 25%, but I've only refilled it (partially) twice in the month I've owned it.

I am extremely noise-sensitive. The filter motor is only mildly noticeable over the peaceful trickle of water. I have wanted a water feature for many years, and I am so glad (after MUCH research) that I chose this one.
